Interest Form to Serve on a Policy Council.The Treasurer's Office is a statutorily mandated department and is required to receive and take charge of all funds belonging to the Township. The DeWitt Charter Township Police Department provides police services to residents and businesses on a full-time basis, dedicated to providing superior law enforcement and public service in an effort to maintain a high quality of life in our community. The DeWitt Charter Township Planning Department administers and enforces the Comprehensive Development Plan, the Zoning Ordinance, and the Subdivision Control Ordinance. The Township Manager works directly with the Board of Trustees and is responsible for the administration of all departments of the Township government.ĭiscover recreational opportunities and learn about the Township park system (9 properties). The Fire Department works to save lives and protect property through prevention, preparedness, education and response. The Clerk’s Office is responsible for maintaining all official records of the Township including ordinances, resolutions, contracts and correspondence.ĭeWitt Charter Township's Community Development Department (CDD) works to create, diversify and enhance job growth and to promote business development and stability. These cemeteries are administered through the Township Clerk’s Office and maintained by the Township Sexton and maintenance personnel. The Building Department administers and enforces the State of Michigan Building Codes.ĭeWitt Charter Township owns and operates two cemeteries. The Assessing Department is a multi-purpose department, which is responsible for establishing fair and equitable property tax assessments for DeWitt Charter Township taxpayers.
